Maria Gitin

Maria Gitin Maria Gitin is founder and lead consultant of Maria Gitin & Associates. Maria has extensive experience leading training with diverse organizations and coaching diverse professionals. Her current focus is on coaching, training and brief consultations.

Trainer and presenter - Maria has served as a consultant and trainer for the Tides Foundation, WK Kellogg Foundation, CompassPoint, Board Source, Alliance for Nonprofit Management, Association of Fund Raising Professionals and Monterey and Santa Cruz County community foundations. She and Associate Samuel Torres facilitate board retreats, training and strategic plan retreats. Maria Gitin is also available to speak, read and lead discussions on her experience in the Civil Rights Movement.

Coach - Maria Gitin has coached dozens of newer executive directors and development directors in developing their leadership, fundraising and communication skills. She has served as coach for the Fundraising Academy for Communities of Color with Compass Point, as a member of the Drucker Foundation / Leader to Leader Institute national training team and a contract trainer for Board Source.

Maria Gitin founded a domestic violence emergency shelter, launched a public library foundation and served as capital campaign consultant and strategic planner for seven California community health centers. Maria's extensive volunteer work includes serving as Chair of the Santa Cruz County Emergency Food & Shelter Board, Maria has a lifetime commitment to civic engagement, civil rights and social justice. She brings experience, insight and compassion to the individuals and groups she works with. Maria's practice of yoga supports her holistic approach to supporting individuals in achieving their goals and to building community.
